6th Annual Wetlands Conservation Dinner

The Virginia Ducks Unlimited Conservation Partners Program has been a very important event in support of our conservation efforts to preserve and protect wetlands in Virginia and North America. This event has raised more than a quarter of a million dollars over the last five years and we are confident this year’s event will continue the successful efforts in support of this important endeavor. This program has also helped Virginia DU to achieve national recognition in fund-raising, placing Virginia as a Top-10 fundraising state in the nation. We are excited about this success and it could not have happened without the support of significant donors such as yourself. Thank you!

With that in mind, we ask for your continued support of the VADU Conservation Partners Program by inviting you to attend this year’s event at the “Farm House” at The Country Club of Virginia, James River Clubhouse. The “Farm House” is a beautiful outside location on a hill between the front and back nine of the Tuckahoe Creek Golf Course with fantastic views overlooking the James River low grounds and Tuckahoe Creek. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be held in the ballroom of the James River Clubhouse.

Also, please encourage your friends to help us in support of this cause and sign up to join us in an evening of conservation. If you have any questions or would like additional information, please contact Rich Johnson, Chip Heaps or me (see our contact information).

Again, thanks for your support of Ducks Unlimited and we look forward to seeing you on September 21st.

If you are unable to join us in September, you can still help support DU’s Rescue Our Wetlands campaign with a donation!

Virginia Ducks Unlimited State Convention

15844228_1311377795595503_2160992708382441939_o

The 2017 VADU State Convention will be held at The Tides Inn, located in Irvington, Virginia on March 10-11, 2017.

In the spring of 1946, The Ashburn Farm began its transformation into the stunning Tides Inn. The expansive, waterfront farm had been in the Ashburn family for over 150 years before being purchased by E.A. Stephens, a New Orleans businessman. On July 15th, 1947, the Tides Inn opened to the public. The Tides soon established itself as the premier resort in the Mid-Atlantic region. After three generations of the Stephens family’s stewardship, the inn was purchased by Enchantment Group in 2001. With extensive renovations carrying the Chesapeake Bay resort into a new era, the Tides Inn has become the charming Virginia retreat it is today.

We are excited about hosting several fun and enjoyable activities throughout the convention followed by our State Awards banquet in celebration of our dedicated and passionate DU volunteers and supporters.

In addition to registering for the convention online, please make your 2017 room reservations directly with The Tides Inn by calling 855.420.9316. Use The VADU Group ID 10146 to receive your discounted room rate of $135/night.

There will be a discounted resort fee of $15/night and State and Local taxes that will be in addition to the discounted room rate. The resort fee includes wi-fi, access to the pool and spa, bicycles, tennis courts, croquet, basketball courts and par 3 golf course.
